"Homeland Security - the Cows Stand Guard" |
| Since 9-11 an enormous amount in tax monies has been spent on pork barrel projects in the name of fighting terrorism. With no formal accounting for the expenditures our politicians have seen fit to ensure that their constituencies got their 'fair' share and have secured the most insignificant and isolated locations. It's ironic but the cows have always secured the homeland pastures. The cows simply watch each other's back and turn to challenge any intruder. It seems that theirs is the better plan and costs a bunch less too. |
| This farm is located on highway 63 near Speedwell, Tennessee. It gave me the feel of the Appalachia of my youth all bright in a noonday sun. I could almost sense the warming winds and smell the pungency of new-turned earth. |

I particularly like the soft feathery quality of new spring leaves contrasted against the solidity of the animals and the man-made structures. |
