| This is one of the very first drawings that I did after going into retirement status. I wanted to draw quite large to quickly get over the tendency to be really finicky with the details. By drawing so large I also got by the tendency to only do facsimiles rather than interpretations of the original works. The choice of medium kept it loose. It was an interesting little book on Venetian drawing and so I did at least a half dozen more charcoal copies from it. |
