This commissioned work is a reconstruction based upon photographs taken at the site.
                                                   detail and (photo resources)
The front pond and garden areas were recreated and only loosely based upon those existing on the property.  The retaining wall was conceived from just one block as seen from the lawn area.  The pond was rotated and rebuilt keeping the character in as much as possible.  The home itself was put together in jigsaw puzzle fashion from many narrow views of the structure and roof lines.  The long range of Pine Mountain came from about a mile up the road shooting as near as I could reckon over the house site.  The cat on the pond bench is from a back porch photograph but the bench is its favorite lookout.

The home sits elevated on the lower slope of the mountain.  Elevations go down from here and then up again quite some distance away.   There were elevated vantage points to be seen from the property but all were inaccessible.  Both times I visited the site were on cloudy days and I never saw the sun cast shadows on the property.

All photos were then taken from ground level from many different locations around the home.  From these I've recreated the property and situated it accurately in relation to the background topography based upon topographic maps and satellite images garnered from the internet.
