Crappie are starting to enter their “It’s winter so we’re not gonna bite” stage. A few are still being caught but that
will most likely end after the next cold front.
Sand Bass should remain good as they start to hang around Humps and points in 18 to 26ft of water. You will need a good
depth finder to locate these.
Black Bass have been fairly good. Not a lot of large fish being caught but some pretty good numbers of smaller fish coming
on top water baits. Fishing a pop-r or buzzbait in 2 to 4ft of water around stick ups and heavy timber early mornings has
been most productive. Up in the day a spinner bait in 4 to 6ft of water in the same areas is working best.
The jug liners are starting to catch catfish a little better in size using shad or perch. Rod &reelers doing
fair in 8 to 12 ft of water using shad or Punch Bait.
