Richland Chambers Reservoir is still a few inches above normal. Navarro Mills and Bardwell lakes are around 10ft above
normal and not releasing any water at this time. That means we will be realeasing water for a month or more once they do.
This won’t mess with the fishing unless we have more than 2 gates open.
Catfish are doing great fishing around timber in 10 to 15ft of water using shad or punch bait. Also fishing windy banks in shallow water works great just not a lot of wind this time of year. Jug lines & trotlines
producing a few good size catfish on perch just not a lot of numbers.
Crappie doing good in 15 to 30ft of water suspened around timber 7 to 20ft deep. They are moving up and down depending
on cloud cover or wind. Most coming on minnows.
Black Bass still fair with some being caught early on top waters till around 8am. Up in the day Caroliana rigs in
6 to 12ft deep or crankbaits around boathouses working best.
Sand Bass are good with schooling action getting better as our water release slows down. Rattle traps and humdingers
in white or silver working best. Birds are finally starting to mark the fish so watch for them around the banks.
Hybyrds are doing better with most coming on shad in 22 to 28ft of water.
